Rules of Conduct for the 260 Game Servers

The admins of 260 provide free public game servers. To help improve your experience we have a few simple rules that you must follow while you are guests on one of our servers.

Failure to comply with any of these rules may result your being banned from all 260 Servers.

Camping:

Bomb Maps:
T's can not camp until the bomb is planted. Once planted they must defend the bomb.

CT's can camp to defend the bomb site, camping on the other side of the map away from the bomb site does not count as guarding the bomb. Once the bomb is planted CT's can not camp. They must make an effort to defuse right down to the last second.

Hostage Maps:
CT's can never camp.

T's may camp only to guard the hostages.

Both 260 servers are run with the expectation that completing the mission supersedes everything else. Getting kills should always come behind planting/defusing. If you are playing an objective map, you must make an attempt to complete the objective at all times.

Note on camping:
Exactly what constitutes camping can be debated over and over however we will use our best judgment for every situation.  Moderate camping in certain situations is permitted.
Examples:
*You are  the last person on T en route to a bombsite and need to duck behind a box to let the CT's go by in hopes of sneaking to the bombsite and planting.

*You are guarding the flank and hear enemies coming, yet you are still in decent proximity to the rest of the team.
 

Cheating:

Everyone hates a cheater, and we want to ban as many as possible. Any player that joins a 260 server and blatantly cheats will be banned on both servers permanently.. period!.  We may not catch you right away but we have many regulars watching and recording demos so be warned.

All bans, unless done in error or to make a point are permanent.  Occasionally our high ping kicker will ban laggers temporarily (usually for a few minutes) so don't worry if you have done nothing wrong.

Ghosting:

We realize that ghosting can not be enforced and we do in fact have a Ventrilo server so our policy is as follows:  We do not condone ghosting for the purposes of telling others where enemies are - plain and simple.  Doing so may arouse suspicion that you are cheating.  If we receive a demo of you that looks like you are cheating you run the risk of being banned.  There is no way to confirm that you were 'ghosting' so ghost at your own risk!.

Racist Comments, Wining, Bitching, and Otherwise Being a Dick:

This would be if someone is saying racist comments in the server regardless of if it’s directed towards another player or just a general comment about a racial group. After an initial warning, the player will be banned from the server.

If someone is being a dick in the server, this would mean towards another player or an admin. After an initial warning, the player will be banned from the server.

Admin Requests/Abuse:

If an admin requests that you do something, do it. There will be no questions asked. During the game, while in the server, is not the time to debate or argue.

If you feel an admin is abusing their position/power please report post your case in the “admin abuse” forum.  Petty whining in this forum will lead to flaming and probably your removal from the website.  Don't forget - we have the logs to back everything up.

What to do if you are banned:

If you feel that you have been banned in error, you make post your case in the “request an unban” forum.  Once again - we have the logs so please do not waste our time with BS requests.

The admins (this includes any admin) retain the right to exclusively determine what violates any of the above rules.  The admins also retain the right to exclusively decide who may access the game servers.
